NADRA now ordered banks to stop the disabled the biometric verification of bank accounts through mobile apps.
Earlier, several commercial banks in Pakistan are providing the convenience to customers by offering them the biometric verification of bank accounts through mobile phones. However, NADRA wants new policy and permission from the central bank to resume the process of biometric verification.
As per NADRA, the signed agreement with banks was just about the biometric verification of bank accounts. However, ATMs and apps are not included in the agreement.
