Karachi: Singapore on Monday (yesterday) showed its interest in the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme by offering assistance.
For Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, Singapore is willing to offer its expertise in the building of 5 million houses. Mr Shamsher Zaman placed the offer to Pakistan. However, he is Singapore’s ambassador to Jordan, chairman of Middle East Business Group, and vice chairman of South Asia Business Group. He chaired the 22 member trade and investment delegation.
He said that business environment in Pakistan has improved a lot. He stressed the delegates will like to focus on infrastructure sector, information technology and also provide services in port management.
Shamsher Zaman highlighted that since Singapore has a lot of experience in urban planning therefore, the country can support Prime Minister Imran Khan’s pledge of building five million low-cost houses. He said Pakistan being world’s sixth largest populated country provides tremendous potential for bilateral growth of economic relations.
