Islamabad: Industries are facing some serious issues due to the dispute over the rates of subsidized gas supply.
The dispute over subsidized gas supply rates decision by government is still not implemented and stakeholders are having dispute over it.
In September, Economic Coordination Committee announced in the ECC meeting that the subsidized gas supply rates will be implemented. According to sources, the summary forwarded to ECC without consulting with other ministries.
However, different interpretations were arisen due to the ECC committee’s decision by industrial sectors, Petroleum Division, and Ministry of Finance.
All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), a body in charge of taking care of the material business interests has challenged to Finance Minister Asad Umar.
It has requested that the fund serve mediate since Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has sent new gas bills dependent on the old levies.
It comes in the midst of a notice issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in October which made reference to the power plants could benefit the subsidy being broadened.
