According to ACCC, Samsung is misleading consumer with their phone ads related to the water resistance.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission elaborated that the Samsung water resistant phone ads are misleading as they didn’t reasonably test the effects of saltwater exposure or swimming pool water on their smartphones when ads showed them fully submerged. However, if Samsung failed to defend themselves then they will have to pay a huge fine.

On the other side, ACCC Chairman Rod Sims said that they alleges Samsung represented their Samsung Galaxy mobiles will be suitable for use in, or for exposure to, all types of water … that is not true.
