SBP Reserves Rise $19 Million, Now Stand at $17.12 Billion

Pakistan’s central bank added more money to its reserves last week. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said its foreign exchange reserves went up by $19 million to $17.12 billion during the week ended August 28, 2026.

The SBP shared this update in its weekly reserves report. In its own words: “During the week ended on 28-Aug-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 19 million to US$ 17,117.8 million.”

Here’s how the country’s total foreign exchange reserves break down as of August 28:

  • SBP reserves: $17.12 billion
  • Commercial banks’ net reserves: $5.41 billion
  • Total liquid reserves: $22.53 billion

This is the second straight weekly rise. The week before, SBP reserves increased by $17 million, reaching $17.10 billion as of August 21
