Pakistan Wheat Tender for 185,000 Tons Gets Lowest Bid of $339.36 a Ton From Bunge

Pakistan’s latest wheat import tender closed on Monday. Bunge came in with the lowest offer, at $339.36 a ton, cost and freight included, for around 60,000 tons, European traders said.

The tender covers 185,000 metric tons of wheat in total. The state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) is still going through the offers. Traders say a decision could come within days. No purchase has been confirmed so far.

Who Else Bid, and at What Price

Twelve trading houses took part. Offers ranged from Bunge’s $339.36 a ton to Aston’s $354.83 a ton, based on trader estimates.

Company Price ($/ton, c&f) Tons Offered
Bunge 339.36 60,000
Olam 341.88 60,000
Ameropa 343.47 60,000
Agrocorp 343.74 60,000
CHS 345.00 60,000
Mera 346.19 60,000
LDC 346.50 120,000
Falconbridge 347.49 60,000
Al Ghurair 349.00 60,000
Saif 350.53 60,000
Soufflet 354.82 60,000
Aston 354.83 60,000

These are trader estimates, not official TCP figures. The final price could change once TCP completes its review.

Slightly Cheaper Than Pakistan’s Last Wheat Deal

This isn’t Pakistan’s first wheat purchase this month. Earlier in September, TCP bought 365,000 tons at $348.83 a ton, under a larger tender for up to 750,000 tons.

Bunge’s latest offer is about $9.47 lower than that price, a drop of roughly 2.7%. The current 185,000-ton tender continues that same 750,000-ton import plan.
