Gold got cheaper in Pakistan on Thursday. The price of one tola of 24-karat gold fell by Rs 3,000, bringing it down to Rs 438,636. The drop came as gold prices fell in the world market too.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association shared these rates. It said the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold fell by Rs 2,572, now standing at Rs 376,059. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold dropped by Rs 2,358 to Rs 344,733.
In the world market, gold fell by $30 to reach $4,161 per ounce.
Silver also got cheaper. Its price fell by Rs50 per tola, taking it to Rs 6,528. For 10 grams, silver dropped by Rs 43 to Rs 5,596. In the world market, silver fell by $0.5 to $60.5 per ounce.

Gold rates in Pakistan move with the international market and the dollar rate. A fall in the world price usually shows up in local rates the same day.
Earlier this week, gold had climbed sharply before this drop. Gold started September at Rs 466,136 per tola and closed the month at Rs 441,636, a fall of Rs 24,500 over the month.
