Pakistan’s Finance Secretary has held talks with Citibank in Bangkok. The meeting reviewed financing in local and foreign currencies. No deal has been announced.

Finance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal and his team met a Citibank delegation on the sidelines of the World Bank Group and IMF Annual Meetings 2026. The Finance Ministry shared the details on October 12.

Talks focused on more funding sources, wider access to capital and suitable financing structures. The ministry says these fit the government’s plan for managing debt.

Citibank welcomed the end of the fourth IMF review and the staff-level agreement. It also noted better economic indicators and recent rating upgrades.

Bosal listed the government’s priorities. These are a stable economy, stronger financing arrangements and closer work with international financial institutions. He said the aim is to support medium-term economic goals.
