ISLAMABAD: JazzCash now has 1.9 million merchants using its QR payment network. That number was under 1 million at the start of 2026.
The company wants to reach 2 million merchants by the end of this year.
CEO Murtaza Ali shared these numbers at the IAMTN Annual Summit 2026. He spoke on a panel called “Merchant Adoption of Digital Payments.”
JazzCash has 64 million registered customers across Pakistan. This growth is part of a bigger push. Pakistan’s government runs a Cashless Economy Initiative. It wants less cash and more digital payments in daily business.
The State Bank of Pakistan backs this push too. Its Raast system lets banks and payment apps work together. A customer from one bank can pay a shop that uses a different provider.
Most small shops in Pakistan still run on cash. Card machines cost money. Many shop owners cannot afford them. QR codes fix that problem. A shop owner prints a code. Customers scan it and pay from their phone. No machine needed.
This has opened digital payments to corner shops, salons, and home businesses. These sellers could not join card networks before.
