If you applied for a Gulf job or visa, you need a medical test first. This test checks if you are fit to work or live in a GCC country. You can check your result online in a few steps, using your passport number. This guide shows you how, using only official Wafid information.
What Is a Passport Medical Report?
A passport medical report is the result of your Wafid medical test. Wafid was formerly known as GAMCA. The Gulf Health Council (GHC) runs this program. It checks for diseases that could stop you from getting a GCC work or residence visa. Your result is linked to your passport number and nationality.
Who Needs This Medical Test
You need this test if you are moving to a GCC country for work or residence, and you hold a passport from one of these countries:
Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Nepal, Niger, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, and Uganda.
The test applies to anyone heading to a GCC country: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, or Bahrain.
What You Need to Check Your Report
You only need one of these:
- Your passport number and nationality, or
- Your Wafid slip number (also called a GCC slip number)
Checking your status online costs nothing. You only pay for the medical appointment itself, not for checking the result.
How to Check by Passport Number
- Go to wafid.com/en/medical-status-search/.
- Select “By Passport Number.”
- Type your passport number exactly as it appears on your passport. No spaces.
- Select your nationality from the dropdown list.
- Click “Check.”
Your result shows on the screen right away.
How to Check by Wafid Slip Number
- Go to the same page: wafid.com/en/medical-status-search/.
- Select “Wafid Slip Number” (also shown as GCC Slip Number).
- Type the number from your appointment slip.
- Click “Check.”
Use this method if your passport number search shows no result.
What Your Result Means
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Fit | You passed the test. You can move ahead with your visa. |
| Unfit | You did not meet the health requirement for this visa. |
| Pending / Under Process | Your lab results are not uploaded to the system yet. |
How Long Does It Take to Get Your Report?
Wafid’s own FAQ page states that a result can take up to 26 working days to appear. In day-to-day practice, many applicants see their result within 2 to 4 working days of their test. Lab tests that need extra checks can take longer.
How Long Is Your Medical Report Valid?
A “Fit” report stays valid for 60 days (2 months) from the report date. You need to complete your visa and passport stamping inside this window.
Wafid’s FAQ confirms you can only book a new appointment 2 months after the date of your existing report. This is why 60 days is treated as the standard validity period. The report’s expiry date is based on its last modification date, not the date of your original exam.
If Your Report Says Unfit
An unfit result means you did not pass the test for one or more health conditions. According to gamcapakistan.com, an unfit result can lead to a 2-month block on applying again for a work, residence, or family visa.
Health Conditions Checked
Infectious disease checks cover HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Malaria, Microfilaria, Leprosy, and abnormal chest X-ray findings such as active or past TB.
Non-infectious checks cover kidney failure, liver failure, heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes, cancer, major psychiatric or neurological conditions, a physical disability that would stop you from doing the job, and low hemoglobin.
How to Fix Wrong Details on Your Report
Entered a wrong passport number, name, or date?
- Contact the medical center where you did your test.
- Ask them to submit a “Change candidate details” or “Change medical exam” request.
- Get the change request number and date from the center.
This correction is free. You should never pay anyone for it.
Common Problems When Checking Your Status
| Problem | Likely Cause | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| No Record Found | Typo in passport number, or data not uploaded yet | Recheck each digit; try again after 24 hours |
| Pending for several days | Lab test still being processed | Wait 2–4 working days, then check again |
| Wrong name or passport shown | Data entry mistake at the center | Contact the center to correct it |
| Page won’t load | Weak connection or heavy site traffic | Try a different browser or network |
Medical Appointment Fee
Wafid’s official FAQ lists the booking fee as $10 per applicant for the appointment itself. The cost of the actual medical test at the center can differ by country and center, so confirm the full fee with your assigned center before you go.
How to Avoid Fake Websites and Scams
Always check your status on wafid.com, or on a page that links directly to the official Wafid portal. Never send your passport scan or pay a stranger on WhatsApp or social media to “reveal” your result. The real status check is free and needs only your passport number.
