You can check how many SIMs are registered on your CNIC through the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). This is a free, official service. It shows you the SIM count linked to your own identity, broken down by network. It does not show you someone else’s personal details from their phone number — that’s not something PTA, or any legal service, offers.
What the PTA SIM Information System Does
PTA runs a system called the SIM Information System. It lets you see how many SIMs are active under your CNIC, across every major network in Pakistan (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, and SCO). This helps you spot a SIM you never registered, which can happen if someone misused your CNIC to get a connection.
Method 1: Check by SMS (Code 668)
- Open your phone’s messaging app.
- Type your 13-digit CNIC number, with no dashes and no spaces.
- Send it as an SMS to 668.
- Within seconds, you’ll get a reply showing your SIM count per network.
This works from any Pakistani SIM, on any network. There’s a small charge, usually around Rs. 2 plus tax, similar to a standard SMS fee.
Method 2: Check Online (cnic.sims.pk)
- Go to PTA’s official portal at cnic.sims.pk.
- Enter your 13-digit CNIC number.
- Complete the verification step if the site asks for one.
- Submit the form to see your full SIM record.
This method works from anywhere, even outside Pakistan, and doesn’t need a local SIM to use.
If You Find a SIM You Don’t Recognize
- Contact that network’s customer service and ask them to block it.
- File a complaint with PTA if the operator doesn’t resolve it.
- Do this quickly. An unauthorized SIM under your name can be used for scams or fraud that come back to your CNIC.
A Note on “SIM Owner Lookup” Websites
PTA’s 668 service and the cnic.sims.pk portal only work for checking SIMs under your own CNIC. They are not a way to look up a stranger’s name, CNIC, or address from their phone number, and no official Pakistani service offers that. Websites that claim to reveal another person’s identity from their mobile number are not part of PTA’s system, and asking for someone else’s personal data this way isn’t legal in Pakistan.
