Lucky Cement Limited (PSX: LUCK) will build a new production line at its Karachi plant. The line will add 3.20 million tons of cement capacity a year. The company's board approved the project, according to a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Once the work is done, Karachi's total capacity will reach 8.55 million tons a year.

The new line will be built next to the current Karachi plant, not at a new site. It will connect to a cement grinding facility already being installed there.

Lucky Cement expects the new line to start commercial production by December 2027.
