Petrol and diesel prices went up again in Pakistan. This is the seventh hike in a row this month.
New Petrol and Diesel Rates
- Petrol now costs Rs 384.34 a litre. That is Rs 4.10 more than before.
- Diesel, also called HSD, now costs Rs 415.83 a litre. That is a jump of Rs 6.41.
The new rates started at midnight on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division announced the change. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, OGRA, set the new prices under the government’s pricing rules.
Why Fuel Got Costlier
Oil prices around the world went up this week. Reports said oil loadings stopped at Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu port on the Red Sea. Libya also halted work at three oil fields.
These problems raised fears about oil supply. Traders worry the trouble could last for weeks.
Brent crude oil rose by $2.81 a barrel, reaching $108.49. US oil, known as West Texas Intermediate, rose by $3.29 to hit $104.68 a barrel.
If prices hold, both oil types will close at their highest level in nearly four months.
Prices Have Climbed Fast This Month
This is not a small change. Fuel prices have gone up seven times in a row.
Since September 1, petrol has risen by Rs41.55 a litre. Diesel has gone up by Rs45.42 a litre in the same time.
That is a steep rise in just over two weeks.
