How to Lower a High PMT Score?
You cannot manually change your score. If your household financial situation has worsened (e.g., loss of a job, medical emergency), visit the nearest BISP office and request a dynamic survey/re-survey to update your details in the NADRA database.
How BISP Uses Your PMT Score
BISP runs Benazir Kafaalat, the quarterly cash payment for low-income households. A woman registered as head of her household gets paid every three months once her family’s PMT score meets the approved cutoff, which BISP’s board set at 32. Payments go out through banks, mobile wallets, or BISP payment centers, based on the same NSER record your score comes from.
What the NSER Survey Actually Collects
Your PMT score isn’t based on a bank statement or a tax return. It comes from a household survey that records your family size, income sources, housing type, ownership of land or vehicles, and monthly utility bills. If your household hasn’t been surveyed in years, this data is old, and your score may no longer match your real situation.
Why Checking Your Score Matters

Does the 8171 Check Work the Same Way in Sindh?
Yes. NSER and the 8171 system are run by the federal government, so an 8171 PMT score check by CNIC online works the same in Sindh as it does in Punjab, KP, or Balochistan. Punjab also runs its own separate survey called PSER for provincial schemes, but that’s a Punjab-only system. Residents of Sindh don’t need it, and it has no bearing on your 8171 PMT score.
