LESCO Shifts to Digital and Bank Channels, Ends Post Office Bill Payments

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officially stopped accepting electricity bill payments at Pakistan Post offices starting February 20, 2026. This ruling will impact millions of local and industrial consumers in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, and Nankana Sahib. The company informed Pakistan Post headquarters to abort the manual collection. The consumers are now obliged to pay their monthly payments through digital mediums or commercial banks.

Reasons and Digital Shift

This ban was initiated by LESCO management to computerize the manual collection system and enhance the efficiency of operations. Post office manual processing can cause delays in the synchronization of data and create the chance of loss of cash collection. The transition to the digital channels guarantees the company real-time payment information in its billing system. This is also in line with the larger vision of the Ministry of Energy to modernize the power distribution companies (DISCOs).

LESCO Bill Payment Alternatives

Bills are payable via mobile applications such as JazzCash, Easypaisa, and NayaPay. Physical payments are still being accepted in all commercial banks, such as National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL). LESCO also has an internet portal where duplicate bills can be downloaded and payment history can be tracked.
