Fintech Growth Helps Digital Payments Reach 92% in Pakistan

The Pakistan Fintech Network held the 4th Pakistan Fintech Forum in Karachi, bringing together regulators, banks, fintech leaders, technology companies, and investors. The event ran under the theme “Building the Financial Future – Scale, Trust, and Inclusion.” State Bank Deputy Governor Muhammad Ali Malik addressed the forum, saying 92 percent of payments in Pakistan are now made digitally, and that building trust is the next step for growing fintech adoption further.

Digital Payments Are Already Mainstream

Malik told the forum that financial technology is expanding access to financial services across the country. He pointed to the 92 percent figure as proof that digital payments have already become the norm, not the exception, in Pakistan. He also noted that small businesses are now generating cash flow data through their digital payment activity, data that can help them access credit and other financial services down the line.
