A new travel rule takes effect today, September 14. Every passenger flying out of Pakistan must now carry a NADRA-issued vaccine certificate.
The rule comes from Border Health Services-Pakistan (BHS-P), part of the federal Airport Health Department. The notice was issued on September 7.
It covers all outbound travelers, including Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
Four vaccines are required: polio, meningitis, yellow fever, and influenza. Dr Syed Murtaza Shah Bukhari, a focal person for Border Health Services, confirmed this list.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has already informed passengers about the change. A PIA spokesperson said no one will be allowed to board an international flight without NADRA proof. Airlines must check each passenger’s certificate before boarding.
The Federal Government Civil Dispensary is the only center allowed to vaccinate international travelers. Officials say old vaccination cards will no longer work. From today, only the NADRA-issued certificate counts.
Travelers who still need the vaccine can get it at the airport. They must arrive at least six hours before their flight. Vaccination counters will open at airports in the coming days for anyone who has not completed the process.
