Pakistan, Bangladesh Agree on Visa-Free Travel for Diplomatic Passports

In a key step to enhance bilateral ties, Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to allow visa-free entry for holders of diplomatic and official passports. The agreement was reached during a high-level meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh’s Home Minister Lt. Gen (R) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Wednesday.

Both parties had a thorough discussion of extending the cooperation in the question of internal security, counter-terrorism, and law enforcement training. They have decided to enhance cooperation in the anti-narcotics operations, fight the problem of human trafficking, and present exchange programs between the police academies.

To formalize and advance future initiatives, the two countries also decided to establish a joint coordination committee, which will be led by Federal Secretary for Interior, Khurram Agha, on Pakistan’s side.

Additionally, a Bangladeshi delegation is expected to visit Pakistan’s National Police Academy in Islamabad soon, as part of continued cooperation in security and capacity-building.
