The manufacturing industry had an annual decline of 3% in exports in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country earned $1.036 billion in foreign exchange from manufacturing sector exports during the first quarter of FY2025 — showing a 3% decrease compared to the same period last fiscal year.
The manufacturing exports during the same period last year were at $1.065 billion. In September 2025, the manufacturing export was pegged at $345 million, which is an eight percent drop in comparison with September 2024, when the industry earned $375 million in export sales.
On a month-to-month basis, manufacturing exports remained stable. In August 2025, the sector’s exports were also recorded at $345 million, showing no significant change in September.
It is noteworthy that the country’s overall exports during the first quarter of the current fiscal year amounted to $7.59 billion, down 3.9% from $7.906 billion recorded during the same period last year.
