OGRA approved higher gas rates for both Sui Southern and Sui Northern. The new decision increases the per-unit cost for consumers and also allows a large adjustment for past company losses.

OGRA increased the gas price in Pakistan for the new financial year after reviewing the requests from the gas companies.

The OGRA gas prices in Pakistan for Sui Southern rise by Rs118.47 per MMBTU. The total jump becomes 7.14%. The new rate now stands at Rs 1,777.02 per MMBTU.

Sui Northern prices go up by Rs86.30 per MMBTU, which becomes a 4.89% rise. The new rate for Sui Northern is now Rs 1,852.80 per MMBTU.

OGRA also allowed an adjustment of Rs60.88 billion to cover the previous shortfall. Therefore, the new bills will include both the new year’s rates and the older recovery amount.
