Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a new initiative to make business approvals faster and fully digital for entrepreneurs. Maryam Nawaz e business programme allows applicants to get NOCs and other approvals online, without visiting government offices.
The Chief Minister chaired a meeting on Monday and instructed that all e-business processes be completed within two weeks. Departments must provide NOCs and approvals under one roof to help investors and business owners.
The CM said pending applications must be reviewed weekly, and decisions should be made on time. She instructed the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to establish a special e-Business Cell and set up help desks at Deputy Commissioners’ offices to guide people who are unfamiliar with digital systems.
Departments and districts that make faster decisions on e-business cases will receive extra performance points. The Chief Minister will hold meetings every two weeks to check progress.
The PITB Chairman said the e-Business Portal lets entrepreneurs apply online and get NOCs from multiple departments. So far, 2,878 applications have been submitted, and 1,130 have been approved.
The Chief Minister said the Maryam Nawaz e business programme will remove delays and obstacles. She warned that negligence or corruption in the system will not be tolerated.
