The amount of money remitted back home by Pakistanis working abroad experienced a significant increase in the month of September 2025 to 3.2 billion, representing approximately 11.3 percent over the same month in the previous year. The growth means that the Pakistanis in the diaspora are becoming more confident and willing to invest in the economy of their country.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that the first three months of 2025-26 financial year received $9.5 billion of foreign currency, as against 8.8 last year- a total increase of 8.4.
The State Bank said that this steady rise in money transfers from abroad reflects the trust of overseas Pakistanis and their growing use of official banking channels. The central bank added that the 8.5% yearly increase in foreign money transfers during the first quarter of this fiscal year is a positive sign for Pakistan’s economy.
