Sindh to Cut E-Challan Fines After Public Pressure
The Sindh government announced plans to cut E-challan Sindh fines following complaints from the public. Officials said the system will continue to operate to maintain road discipline and traffic safety.
The move comes after widespread criticism of the E-challan Karachi system, where fines for common traffic violations reached up to Rs 5,000. Citizens reported problems with ownership transfers, incorrect tickets, and limited awareness of the system.
Karachi motorists can still get 50% discount on early payment of e‑challans within 15 days. Serious violations, including one-way rule breaches and unregistered vehicles, remain subject to full fines.
Karachi Traffic Police stated that the fine reduction aims to balance enforcement and public convenience. Authorities said motorists can visit any of 11 facilitation centres to contest tickets issued to wrong owners.
The government emphasized that the E challan Sindh system relies on cameras and automated detection. Roads without proper signage or zebra crossings may cause disputes, but the system will not be suspended.
Authorities indicated that a declaration on updated fines would be done by the end of November 2025. Drivers are recommended to review the ownership documentation and stay on the track to avoid problems with E challan Karachi.
