Pakistani Automotive Sector Exports Vehicles to 20 Countries

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s automobile industry has achieved a major milestone by exporting 434 locally assembled vehicles to 20 countries over the past three fiscal years, according to data shared in the Senate.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb disclosed the figures while responding to a question from Senator Shahadat Awan. The exports included cars of different engine sizes and models, sent to countries such as Japan, Afghanistan, Qatar, the UAE, Thailand, Lebanon, Kenya, Nigeria, the United States, Sri Lanka, China, and Bangladesh, among others.

Government records show a steady increase in both export volume and value.

  • In 2022–23, Pakistan exported 100 vehicles worth Rs. 94.7 million.
  • In 2023–24, exports rose to 107 units worth Rs. 388.2 million.
  • The highest jump came in 2024–25, with 227 vehicles worth Rs. 936.9 million.

These exports were done by eight big manufacturers, which provide the following: Pak Suzuki, Honda Atlas Cars, Sazgar Engineering Works, United Auto Industries, Lucky Motor Corporation, Hyundai Nishat Motors, Master Changan Motors and Indus Motor Company.

Models that were being exported were Toyota Corolla Altis, Suzuki Alto and Swift, Honda City and mini-vans, SUVs and electric rickshaws. The increase in exports shows Pakistan’s growing production quality and a stronger presence in international markets.
