Punjab Introduces Smart AI Driving Test Technology

Punjab now utilizes an AI-powered car to take driving tests, making it the first in Pakistan. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif started this service to make the licensing process easier and faster.

The Punjab Traffic Police designed it to ensure fair evaluation of cars. This removes the need for human supervision.

DIG Traffic Officer Waqas Nazir says the vehicle has advanced cameras and sensors. These tools can automatically assess a candidate’s performance. It has facial recognition and a fingerprint scanner inside. Also, the four cameras outside track driving behavior during the test.

Once the candidate enters the car, the system starts up. It gives automated instructions and shows a countdown timer. It also checks features like the seatbelt and handbrake. It will detect major issues, such as using the reverse gear multiple times. The test results form without any human assistance.

The AI-powered vehicle will launch first in Lahore. The initial production will be 200 vehicles. These will be deployed at licensing centers in Punjab in the current fiscal year.
