Samsung has officially launched it’s One UI 8.5 beta program on 8 December 2025. This update is initially available only for Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones (S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra).
New Features and Improvements
One UI 8.5 brings fresh tools and smoother experiences. The update adds a smarter sharing system: its Quick Share can now suggest contacts from the people appearing in your photos. An advanced “Storage Share” lets your phone access files from other Samsung devices, including tablets, PCs, and even TVs.
Audio streaming also gets better. The new “Audio Broadcast” feature enables users to stream media or even voice from their phone to nearby compatible devices through Auracast technology.
Security and privacy receive strong upgrades. A new “Theft Protection” comes with the beta. Meanwhile, a “Failed Authentication Lock” automatically locks the screen after several wrong unlock attempts to keep your data safe.
One UI 8.5 Beta Availability
The One UI 8.5 beta is rolling out in select markets: Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the United States. If you own a Galaxy S25 model in these regions, you can join via the Samsung Members app. Then go to Settings → Software update → Download and install.
