Honda looks set to bring the next-generation City to Pakistan. According to PakWheels, the company plans to unveil the 7th-generation City at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS), running September 18 to 20 in Lahore. The news comes from a teaser posted by the Pakistan Auto Show, which didn’t name Honda directly, but the teaser image matches the 7th-gen City. If this holds true, it would replace the 6th-generation City, on sale in Pakistan since 2021, marking its first major redesign here in five years.
This Generation Isn’t New to the World
The 7th-generation City runs on Honda’s GN platform and first launched internationally back in 2019. It has already gone through two rounds of facelifts in markets like India and Thailand. Because Honda hasn’t confirmed anything officially yet, all images tied to this story show the original 2019 version, not the facelifted one.
Abroad, the car comes in two body styles: sedan and hatchback. The hatchback is sold only in parts of Southeast Asia, like Thailand, and isn’t expected to come to Pakistan.
What the Car Offers in Other Markets
Internationally, the petrol version runs a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, producing 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque, paired with a manual or CVT gearbox.
Top international trims include a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera system, and Honda Sensing, Honda’s driver-assist suite covering adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning. Six airbags come standard on many trims too.
Will Pakistan Get the Same Features?
Not necessarily. Honda Atlas has a history of trimming features from international specs to keep local pricing competitive against rivals like the Toyota Yaris. Whether the hybrid engine option, the hatchback body, or the full Honda Sensing suite makes it to Pakistan is still unknown.
What We Still Don’t Know
Right now, the only confirmed detail is the unveiling date at PAPS in Lahore. Honda hasn’t said whether this will be a simple showcase or if bookings will open at the event. Pricing hasn’t been shared either. This is still a developing story, and more details should follow closer to the event.
