Chinese carmaker Geely is entering Pakistan’s auto market. Bestway Automotive Private Limited (BAL) will be its sole distributor in the country.
BAL and Geely signed their partnership deal in June 2026, at Geely’s head office in Hangzhou, China. The two sides shared full details at a media briefing in Lahore on September 15, 2026.
Three SUVs, Two of Them Electric
Geely’s first lineup for Pakistan will have three SUVs. Two will run fully on electric power. One will be a hybrid.
The company has not shared names, specs, or prices yet. Bookings are expected to open before the end of 2026.
The SUVs will first come in as imported, fully built units. Local assembly will follow later.
Bestway’s Local Assembly Plan
Bestway has already bought an assembly plant at Port Qasim, Karachi. This is the same plant it used earlier for Proton cars. Bestway also cleared pending taxes on the plant and refunded stuck Proton customers after taking it over.
No date has been set yet for when Geely’s local assembly will begin.
