Two new electric SUVs from Chery’s iCAUR brand have been spotted testing on Pakistani roads. Nishat Group, which already brought Omoda and Jaecoo to the country, is now working on bringing iCAUR to Pakistan too.
The two models, the V23 and the V27, were seen in wrapped test units. No price or launch date has been confirmed yet, but Nishat has given local outlets early access to both cars, which points to a launch later this year.
iCAUR V23: The Compact Electric SUV
The V23 is a fully electric SUV, and Nishat has confirmed it plans to bring the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version to Pakistan. Here’s what that version offers:
- Power: 208 hp and 292 Nm of torque, from two electric motors
- Battery and range: 81.76 kWh battery, with a claimed 430 km range (NEDC)
- Speed: 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds
- Off-road figures: 210 mm ground clearance, a 43-degree approach angle, a 41-degree departure
- angle, and a claimed wading depth of 600 mm
- Safety: Six airbags, Level 2 driver assistance (adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency
- braking, blind spot detection, lane departure warning), plus a 540-degree camera system
iCAUR V27: The Bigger Range-Extended SUV
The V27 sits above the V23 in size and is built for longer trips. Instead of running on battery power alone, it uses Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology. Electric motors turn the wheels, while a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine only generates electricity to keep the battery charged. It does not power the wheels directly.
- Power: A 150 kW front motor and a 185 kW rear motor combine for 449 hp and 505 Nm
- Speed: 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds
- Battery and range: A 34.31 kWh battery gives around 150 km on electric power alone, with a
- combined range of up to 995 km once the petrol generator kicks in
- Focus: Built with off-road use and long highway drives in mind, which is part of why it’s already
- popular in Middle Eastern markets
When Will iCAUR Launch in Pakistan?
Nishat hasn’t announced a price or an exact launch date for either model. The fact that test units are already on local roads, and that the company has let outlets review them early, suggests the brand’s Pakistan debut isn’t far off. Until Nishat makes an official announcement, treat any pricing or launch-date claims from other sources with caution.
