According to the data released by the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) and industry reports, the sale of furnace oil in Pakistan declined by 76% in the first two months of the fiscal year 2025.

The total furnace oil sales in Pakistan during July and August 2025 were 0.03 million tons against 0.14 million tons of the same period in previous year. This represents a one year decline of 76 percent.

In August 2025, sales of furnace oil were 0.02 million tons, a 71 percent decline over 0.06 million tons in August 2024. On a month-on-month basis, however, sales increased by 21 per cent. in comparison with July 2025.

The total sales of petroleum products in Pakistan made 2.52 million tons in the first two months of FY2025. This represents a 5% improvement to 2.41 millions tons that was registered during the same period in FY2024.

The fall in sales of furnace oil in Pakistan suggests further change in the patterns of energy consumption, and petrol and diesel continue to be significant to the overall sales of petroleum products.
