The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced its decision on the K Electric tariff revision for the Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) period from 2024 to 2030. According to the notification, NEPRA has reduced K-Electric’s average tariff from Rs. 39.97 per unit to Rs. 32.37 per unit.
As per NEPRA’s decision, the K Electric tariff revision includes a reduction of Rs. 7.60 per unit, impacting the power utility’s generation, transmission, distribution, and supply operations. NEPRA confirmed that its earlier ruling regarding the “Right of Claims” remains unchanged.
The regulatory authority also stated that the financial burden of Rs. 50 billion under the Right of Claims category will continue to be passed on to consumers. This adjustment is part of NEPRA’s ongoing tariff management to ensure compliance with Pakistan’s power sector framework.
A spokesperson for K-Electric said the company is reviewing NEPRA’s detailed order on the K-Electric tariff revision. The decision covers multiple aspects of K-Electric’s business, including power generation, transmission, and supply. The company also indicated that it will evaluate all available legal options following the decision.
