Sony has increased the prices of its PlayStation 5 consoles in the United States, and the same wave has hit Pakistan.
The price hike includes all three models. In the U.S., the PS5 Disc Edition now costs $549.99, the Digital Edition is priced at $499.99, and the high-end PS5 Pro has jumped to $749.99, the most expensive gaming console right now.
After this change, PS5 prices in Pakistan have also gone up. Local shopkeepers say prices have risen by Rs10,000 to Rs20,000, depending on the model.
In big cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, the new PS5 Pro 2TB is now selling for around Rs260,000. The PS5 Slim 1TB is being sold at about Rs180,000.
Even with higher prices, the PS5 is still popular in Pakistan. Not everyone can afford to buy it but many who have the means still buy it as a gift for their children, family or friends.
