Solar Becomes Cheaper: Prices Cut by Up to 40% in Pakistan

Solar system prices in Pakistan have dropped sharply, giving relief to households and businesses already struggling with high electricity bills and load shedding. Many people wanted to shift to solar power earlier, but high prices stopped them.

Now, traders and companies have cut their profits by 30% to 40%, which has reduced overall market rates. A 5kW system now costs around Rs 550,000 instead of Rs 600,000. A 7kW system is selling for Rs 600,000 to Rs 625,000. Prices for larger setups have also fallen. A 10kW system starts from Rs 900,000, while a 15kW system is available for Rs 1.25 to 1.3 million.

Experts say winter is the best time to install solar panels because demand is low. They expect more people to switch to solar energy as prices continue to drop across the country.
