The Sindh government has announced a Rs 55 billion farmer relief package for 2025, fixing the wheat support price at Rs 3,500 per maund (40 kg) for the upcoming 2025-26 wheat procurement season. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the provincial government plans to procure between 0.8 to 1.2 million tonnes of wheat to ensure fair compensation for farmers and strengthen Sindh’s agricultural economy.
Small farmers will also get one bag of DAP fertilizer and two bags of urea per one acre under the Sindh Farmer Subsidy Scheme 2025 to cut on inputs. The government has also reduced the triple tax on agricultural income back to 15% to help farmers who have to face increased costs of cultivating their farms.
The Sindh wheat procurement plan 2025 aims at transparent purchasing procedures and timely payment to growers. The officials affirmed that the package is meant to ensure that farmers remain in wheat production and food security is pursued in Pakistan by ensuring that farmers get the fertilizer in time and minimum support prices.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also pointed out that the province faces two major challenges — rural dacoit activities and urban street crimes — which affect logistics and rural safety. He said law enforcement measures are being strengthened to ensure smooth wheat procurement operations.
The Sindh wheat support price 2025 was initially proposed at Rs 4,000 per maund, but finalized at Rs 3,500 to align with federal coordination and fiscal limits. The relief initiative is expected to stabilize Sindh wheat prices, protect small farmers, and improve overall agriculture productivity in Pakistan.
