Xiaomi Launches Redmi 17C 5G With Big Screen and 6000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi 17C 5G, a budget phone built for people who want a big screen and long battery life without paying too much. It’s the 5G version of the Redmi 17C 4G, and it comes with a stronger chip and a few upgrades worth knowing about.

What’s New in the Redmi 17C 5G

The phone runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chip, paired with 4GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB storage. This chip is a clear step up from the Helio G81 used in the 4G version, so everyday tasks like calls, browsing, and social media should feel smoother. There’s also a microSD card slot if you need more storage later, and a headphone jack, which many phones this year have dropped.

Big Screen, Big Battery

Redmi 17C 5G has a 6.9-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling feel more fluid. Brightness goes up to 810 nits at its peak. On the back, there’s a single 50MP camera, while the front camera is 8MP, placed in a small teardrop notch.

Battery size sits at 6000mAh, and it supports 33W fast charging. The phone also comes with IP64 protection, so it can handle dust and light splashes of water without trouble.

The phone runs HyperOS 3, built on Android 16, and comes in three colours: black, purple, and brown with a vegan leather finish.

Where It’s Available and What It Costs

Right now, the Redmi 17C 5G is officially available in Singapore, priced around SGD 279, close to $220. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed a launch date for other countries yet, including Pakistan.
