MG Motor Pakistan has launched the second generation of the ZS in the country. It comes with a real change this time: two of the three variants now run on a hybrid setup, a first for the ZS name in Pakistan.
What’s Actually New This Time
The first-generation ZS came to Pakistan back in 2019 with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, and MG later added an electric version too. This new generation is bigger, wider, and fully redesigned inside and out. The biggest change, though, is under the hood: buyers now get to pick between a regular petrol engine and a hybrid setup.

- Vibe: Base variant, petrol engine only, no hybrid.
- Hybrid+ Excite: Mid variant, hybrid powertrain.
- Hybrid+ Essence: Top variant, hybrid powertrain, loaded with extra features.

Booking amount is Rs 1.2 million across all three variants. MG has noted this pricing is a limited-time offer, so it’s worth confirming the current price with a dealer before you commit, in case it changes later.
Engine and Performance
Petrol (Vibe): 80 kW of power, 142 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed CVT.
Hybrid (Excite and Essence): 158 kW of combined power (around 212 hp), 465 Nm of combined torque, a 1.83 kWh hybrid battery, and a 3-speed hybrid transmission. MG claims a driving range of up to 940 km on the hybrid setup.

Colors on offer are York White, Cosmic Silver, Clever Grey, Flare Red, and Black Pearl, with a choice of dark or light interior themes.
Who It’s Up Against
Since the ZS now splits into hybrid and non-hybrid trims, it competes in two different spaces.
The hybrid variants go up against the Jaecoo J5, Haval Jolion, Honda HR-V e:HEV, Suzuki Fronx Mild Hybrid, and Toyota Corolla Cross HEV.
The base petrol variant competes with the Peugeot 2008, the non-hybrid Honda HR-V, Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Haval Jolion.
