International Monetary Fund or IMF delegation will visit Pakistan from Wednesday (today) to discuss about the IMF loan.
Talks about IMF loan to Pakistan will be held as IMF delegation will arrive in Islamabad. However, the IMF visit to Pakistan is for around 14 days. In the initial phase, IMF technical team will make talks with Pakistani officials. However, Pakistan will elaborate the delegation about the economic needs of country.
Heads of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Finance Bureau of Revenue, and Finance Minister Asad Umar will attend the talks. Gerry Rice, IMF spokesperson, earlier said that the fund’s executive board will be sent for meeting. However, Pakistan formally requested for IMF loan in October 2018.
Earlier, IMF chief Christine Lagarde revealed that she met with SBP Governor Tariq Bajwa, Finance Minister Asad Umar, and the economic team members. However, Pakistan formally approached IMF in this meeting.
However, Pakistan managed to grab the $6 billion loan from Saudi Arabia.
