Karachi: According to reports, Cement exports are increased while domestic despatches have seen a decline.
Cement exports increased by 48% in the first six months of the fiscal year. However, domestic despatches fell by 0.279 million tonnes in that period. In addition, it is the first occasion in the 9 years that the cement despatches declined in the first six months of the fiscal year.
During 1HFY18, cement exports reached to 3.560m tonnes from 2.405m tonnes. On the other side, domestic desptaches were decreased from 19.836m tonnes to 19.557 tonnes in the same duration.
According to APCMA or All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association spokesperson, decrease in the consumption of domestic cement is increasingly articulated in the Northern locale of Pakistan where a high number of production units are present.
APCMA spokesperson said swelling trades demonstrate the Pakistani cement industry is comprehensively aggressive and Pakistan can acquire valuable foreign exchange with the support of government.
APCMA spokesperson hoped that the administration will consider beginning improvement undertakings to help household consumption of cement and the employment in the construction area.
