The renowned US firm General Electric clinched $60 million deal for Thar coal power plant.

General Electric or GE signed $60 million deal for Thar coal power project. However, the company will provide post purchase services and advanced boiler technology to the 330 MW Thar coal power plant.

GE revealed the agreement under which they will provide steam turbine generator technology and advanced circulating fluidized bed boiler to Thar Energy Limited (TEL) power plant. However, TEL is the consortium of China Machinery and Engineering Corporation, Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC), and Hub Power Company Limited (HUBCO).

Thar Energy Limited is part of the 1,320 MW (four power plants of 330 MW) power plant and integrated mining plan. However, the plan lies under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) program.

According to the deal, General Electric will offer crucial services to assist maintenance outages. However, it will include the on-site inspections and supply of spare parts. In addition, the advisory services for enhanced operations of both the steam turbine generator and boiler at Thar coal power project for 12 years will be also included.
