Islamabad: PM Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood’s firm Descon and Chinese company China Gezhouba won the Mohmand Dam contract.
Mohmand Dam contract or construction bid is won by China Gezhouba and Descon. However, the total construction cost is Rs 309 billion. WAPDA and Water and Power Development Authority chairman also confirmed the news. He further added that the joint venture of Power China and Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) failed to win the bid.
WAPDA chairman said that the temporary worker will prepare to the site of the task inside 10 weeks. He further added that they are in a transaction procedure with the triumphant bidder to additionally trim the costs.
In any case, top authorities in the Ministry of Water and Power said that the project is being started in flurry. Its land has not yet been obtained and a consultancy firm is yet to be settled.
Mohmand Dam will assist in the flood controlling. However, its storage capacity will be 300,000 cusecs of water.
