Economic Coordination Committee or ECC decide to not do gas load shedding in Pakistan during next three months.
ECC decided that there will be no load shedding in winter. However, the committee permitted to add around 160 mmcfd per day regasified the LNG volumes in systems of SNGPL. It will facilitate both the commercial and domestic users.
According to sources, consumers of other sectors will borne the difference between the imported expensive LNG and indigenous gas.
SNGPL estimated the one million British thermal units (mmbtu) of the re-gasified LNG are higher by Rs 35.63. However, it is compared to the indigenous gas cost.
The indigenous gas meets around 60% needs. However, against the 6 billion cubic feet of gas per day (bcfd) demand, indigenous gas lies at just 2.22 bcfd as informed by the Petroleum Division.
It is expected that SNGPL will manage the load of commercial and domestic customers through different pressure management methods in peak hours.
