Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.41 billion to Pakistan in October 2025, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). This amount is 7.34% higher than in September. In the first four months of the fiscal year, total remittances reached $12.95 billion, showing a 9.32% increase compared to last year.
The largest remittances came from Saudi Arabia ($821 million). The following were also the major contributors: UAE (698 million dollars), the United Kingdom (488 million dollars), the European Union (457 million dollars) and the United States (290 million dollars).
This expansion is positive to the Pakistani economy. Increased remittances increase the foreign-exchange reserves and reduce the financial burden on the country. According to economists, the surge shows that formal banks are becoming more trusted by the overseas Pakistanis.
Nevertheless, analysts warn that Pakistan continues to struggle with challenges, including the heavy debts and the cost of imports. Remittance flows will depend on the stability of job markets in the Gulf countries and Pakistani rupee.
