Apple has confirmed its next event for September 9, 2026. The event starts at 10 a.m. Pacific Time at Apple Park in Cupertino, under the tagline “Surprise and shine.” The company is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first-ever foldable iPhone. This will also be the first keynote led by incoming CEO John Ternus, who takes over from Tim Cook on September 1.
What Apple Has Confirmed
Apple’s marketing chief, Greg Joswiak, announced the event on August 26. The show will stream live on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube. Apple has invited media to attend in person at Apple Park, and the presentation is expected to be pre-recorded. Apple has not confirmed which products will appear. iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: What’s Expected
The Pro models are expected to keep a similar design and screen size to last year, with the main upgrades focused on display, camera, and connectivity technology. Reported changes include:

- A simplified Camera Control button and a new Dark Cherry color option
- A variable-aperture main camera and Apple’s own C2 cellular modem
- The A20 Pro is built on a 2-nanometre process, Apple’s first for a smartphone chip
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone
Bloomberg has reported that Apple employees internally call the device the iPhone Ultra. Reported specs include:
- A book-style design with an outer screen between 5.3 and 5.5 inches and an inner screen between 7.6 and 7.8 inches
- A titanium frame, an ultra-thin body, and a display designed to avoid a visible crease
- Touch ID built into the power button instead of Face ID, plus two front cameras and a dual rear camera system
- No telephoto camera, to help keep the folded phone thin
- A starting price around $1,999, with some reports suggesting higher configurations could cost more
- Limited early supply, since the hinge and display reportedly need tighter manufacturing tolerances than a regular iPhone
A Change in Apple’s Launch Schedule
Apple is reportedly splitting its iPhone launch this year, with the standard iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e, and the iPhone Air 2 expected to arrive separately in spring 2027 instead of launching alongside the Pro models in September, as Apple has done in past years.
