The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has declared special dispensations to assist the taxpayers in fulfilling their requirements before the FBR Deadline 2025.
As per the official updates, the long-term plan is to have all the major tax offices open on Saturday, December 27, 2025. This comprises Large Taxpayer Offices, Medium Taxpayer Offices, Corporate Tax Offices, and Regional Tax Offices in Pakistan. These offices will be offering services in terms of returning filing, paying taxes, and general facilitation.
Moreover, the FBR has increased working hours on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. All tax and customs offices in Pakistan will remain open on that day up to 10:00 pm. The intention behind this move is to assist the taxpayers who require additional time to make payments, settle dues, collect certificates, or solve problems before the close of the fiscal year.
The long working hours also coincide with the active time on the FBR IRIS login portal. The taxpayers who use the IRIS system to file and pay taxes online are urged to file their e-filing early enough to prevent the delay caused by peak times. The IRIS portal is the official platform for return submission and tax account management.
Officials say these steps help reduce last-minute stress and increase compliance ahead of the 2025 tax filing deadline. Taxpayers can also visit tax offices in person if they face technical problems with the IRIS portal or require help with Active Taxpayer List verification and other tax services.
The FBR plans these extended hours and weekend operations without changing filing deadlines. They seek to maximize revenue collection while giving taxpayers fair opportunity to meet their obligations before the year closes.
